How we work

The export process, step by step

Six defined stages from first enquiry to documents at destination, each with a stated turnaround. No stage begins until you have approved the one before it.

01

Enquiry · Same day acknowledgement

Send us the product and grade, quantity in metric tonnes, destination port, required packing and your preferred Incoterm. If you are not sure of the grade, describe your end use and we will suggest the appropriate specification.

02

Written quotation · Within 24 hours

You receive a formal offer stating unit price, Incoterm and named port, full technical specification, packing, container quantity, shipment window and validity period. Prices are held for the stated validity — typically three to seven working days, because mandi rates move.

03

Sample approval · 5–10 days in transit

A 500 g to 1 kg sample drawn from the offered lot is couriered to you, together with a certificate of analysis where relevant. Sample material is free; courier is to the buyer's account or courier account number. Nothing is contracted until the sample is approved in writing.

04

Contract & payment terms · 1–2 days

We issue a proforma invoice covering the agreed specification, quantity, price, Incoterm, packing, shipment window and payment terms. Advance payment by telegraphic transfer, or an irrevocable Letter of Credit at sight through a first-class bank. Terms for repeat buyers are agreed case by case.

05

Processing, inspection & loading · 7–15 days

Material is cleaned, graded and packed to the approved specification, then stuffed under supervision. Where you have nominated a third-party inspection agency, loading is held until their report is issued. Container and seal numbers with loading photographs are shared the same day.

06

Documentation & dispatch · 3–7 days after sailing

Full document set prepared and dispatched: Bill of Lading, commercial invoice, packing list, Certificate of Origin, Phytosanitary Certificate, Fumigation Certificate and Certificate of Analysis. Scanned copies are emailed immediately; originals are couriered or presented through the bank under an L/C.

Incoterms

Shipping terms explained

We quote on any of the terms below. If you are new to importing, CIF is usually the simplest starting point because we arrange both freight and insurance.

EXW — Ex Works

You take delivery at our supplier's facility in India. All inland transport, export clearance, freight and insurance are your responsibility. Rarely used for first-time buyers.

FOB — Free On Board (named Indian port)

We deliver the goods loaded on board the vessel at the named port — typically Mundra, Nhava Sheva, Kandla or Kolkata — and complete export clearance. Ocean freight, insurance and import clearance are to your account. This is the most common term for buyers with their own freight arrangements.

CFR — Cost and Freight (named destination port)

Our price includes ocean freight to your destination port. Marine insurance is arranged by you. Risk transfers when goods are loaded at the Indian port.

CIF — Cost, Insurance and Freight (named destination port)

Our price includes ocean freight and marine insurance to your destination port. You handle import customs clearance, duties and delivery from the port. The simplest option if you would rather not manage shipping.

All terms are quoted under Incoterms® 2020. Import duties, taxes and destination charges are always to the buyer's account.
